Craig Bolam Hair and Beauty is an award winning Salon based in, Dene Workshops, Mickley, Northumberland. The Salon, originally named Rafters, was established over 20 years ago. Since the beginning, Craig has wanted to make a difference with our craft, after two years we are standardising our unique way of hairdressing, showing a reflection of curiosity in our style and openness to the world. Working and educating with different cultures, customs and people who truly inspire us, and join together with the love of history, art, culture and fashion because this defines each and every one of us.
Our goal is simple; to give you the best experience possible, provided by stylists with vast knowledge in the art of hairdressing. We work closely with an Italian company called Davines and both together we believe that by creating beauty sustainably, we encourage people to take care of themselves, of the environment in which they live and work, and of the things they love.
If you're new to our salon we understand that you may be feeling nervous. So we'd like to introduce our salon and team - lets get to know one another!
Craig has been styling hair for over 10 years. He is qualified to a high standard.
With the enthusiasm to be a successful hairdresser, Craig believes education is the way forward and drives on learning - working with some of the industries most prestigious stylists delivering new techniques, enhancing his and others knowledge.
Craig gives all to his guests, he's a great listener and loves to get to know guests personally.
Hairdressing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I’ve grown up with stylists in my family and for me there was nothing else that I’ve ever wanted to do. I love to follow new trends in fashion and get some of my inspiration from social media sites like Instagram and Pinterest as well as from the really talented stylists I am now working with.
Emily is our future professional, studying at Newcastle college to get her qualification while being trained and mentored by Craig and Siobhan.
We are always looking for exciting talent to join our salon team. If you are an experienced stylist with a passion for hair and can deliver both a fantastic hair cut and client service we'd love to hear from you.
We also offer an excellent in-house training and education programme for aspiring new stylists and technicians to NVQ Level 2. Only a few places on our training schemes are available each year so if you think you have what it takes contact us

We have some amazing natural products in our shopping space benefitting every person to help volumize, energise, replump and even calm your hair and scalp. Davines have a prescriptive range which helps with every day problems such as alopecia, thinning, excess sebum and irritable scalps.
We are also delivering beautifully conditioned colours in our colour space, we've never seen results like it.

Your appointments are very important to us and that time is reserved just for you! We understand that sometimes things don't go to plan and adjustments are necessary but we do respectfully ask for at least 24 hours notices for appointment changes or cancellations.
Sometimes clients have to cancel an appointment, in the event of this we will consult our cancellation list to try to fill, if however we are unable to, we will advertise it via our social media channels. These appointments are usually short notice and therefore will be given at a discounted rate. If we cannot fill your appointment, there may be a surcharge.
To ensure optimum availability, we recommend booking your next appointment prior to leaving the salon. Please be prompt for your appointment as if you are more than 10 minutes late, we may not be able to proceed with your service as it may create an inconvenience to the next client. In the event of this, you may need to re-book your appointment for the next available time slot.
If for any reason The Salon needs to cancel an appointment with less that 24 hours notice, we will discount your service by 50%. However, if the salon has to close due to matters out of our hands such as power cut or incidence we will happily reschedule your appointment but the 50% off will not apply.
